Thesis (M.A.)--Boston UniversityAmong all the important countries of the world, China unquestionably has the worst currency system. Although reform had been agitated continuously since 1900, and several carefully prepared plans for reform had been worked out, nothing had been put into effect until 1935. By 1935, China was forced to abandon her silver standard and adopt the state-managed paper currency which was a correct step toward improving the national economy if it was well managed.[TRUNCATED
